What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable medication that mimics natural substances in the body. Treatment decreases your appetite and helps you feel fuller longer, therefore reducing your daily caloric intake.

Unlike Semaglutide, Tirzepatide works on two different pathways in the body to help with weight loss. It mimics substances in your body called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) that reduces appetite by lowering blood sugar and GIP (gastric inhibitory polypeptide) that enhances the body’s insulin response to food, thereby decreasing appetite.

Am I a Good Candidate for Tirzepatide?

If Semaglutide or other treatments have not been effective, or you’ve suffered side effects like nausea, you may be a good candidate for Tirzepatide. To begin Allura’s Tirzepatide Program, individuals must be an adult (18+) with a BMI over 20. At the discretion of your provider, tirzepatide can be prescribed to individuals who do not meet the above requirements but desire weight loss.

You cannot take Tirzepatide if you have one of these conditions:

  • Insulin-dependent type 1 Diabetic
