Microneedling At A Glance

How Does Microneedling Work?

Our microneedling procedure at Allura uses an instrument called the SkinPen. This pen uses micro (or tiny) surgical-grade needles to prick the surface of the skin as it is guided on the surface of the face, neck, and decollete area. The needles create little injuries to the skin to trigger the healing process – therefore stimulating collagen growth and renewing the surface of the skin.

Are There Any Adverse Effects?

Common side effects of microneedling include redness, and tightness of the skin. These will subside within 24 hours of the treatment.

Do Microneedling Treatments Hurt?

You may experience mild discomfort during your microneedling treatment, however we apply a topical anesthetic cream prior to your treatment to reduce, if not eliminate discomfort altogether. Following the treatment, your skin may be slightly red but it will decrease over the following 24 hours.

Should I Consider Combining Microneedling With Other Treatments?

If you are looking to boost your microneedling results, our aestheticians can add topical PRP to your skin immediately post-procedure. Using your body’s own platelet-rich plasma, not only speeds up the recovery process but also boosts collagen production your skin will be working overtime to create a fresh face.
