How Do YAG Laser Treatments Work?

YAG Laser Treatments deliver pulses of light energy, causing the blood within the vein to thicken and then be absorbed by your body. The light energy also destroys the vessel, which is eventually reabsorbed by your body. The blood flow is then redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface where they’re not visible. It may take 3-5 sessions to fully treat an area but results can be seen shortly after a single treatment.

Are There Any Adverse Effects?

Common side effects include swelling and redness of the treatment area – both are temporary and resolve on their own. Other laser vein treatment side effects may include itching and blood clot nodules (which may need to be removed).

Do YAG Laser Treatments Hurt?

YAG Laser Treatments are generally not painful but this does depend on the pain tolerance of the client. Most clients report a brief warm or hot sensation at the treatment area which subsides after treatment completion. Though anesthetics are generally not used for this treatment, a topical numbing cream may be applied 30 minutes prior to treatment to reduce discomfort.

Should I Consider An Alternative to YAG Laser Treatments?

During your consultation, we will determine if you are a good candidate for YAG Laser Treatments. These laser vein treatments are not appropriate for those who are pregnant, have circulation or clotting disorders, have experienced an embolic stroke, have heart disease, diabetes, or pulmonary emboli.
