Peach fuzz is the term used to describe the super fine, thin little hairs we have on multiple areas of our face. The official name for this type of hair is vellus hair. The term “peach fuzz” comes from, you guessed it, the thin little fuzz on the skin of a peach. Although this hair is super common and mostly goes unnoticed, a lot of people want it gone, because they themselves can see and feel it.
Peach fuzz is natural and nearly everyone has it to some extent. You may have more peach fuzz if you have blonder hair or if peach fuzz runs in the family. (Thank you, genetics.) Although there is nothing wrong with this thin layer of hair, some people just can’t unsee it when they notice it on themselves. It may be the way the sunlight hits it at just the right angle or those fluorescent lights at the office – you just want it gone!
