What is PRP Intimate?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated solution of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. Platelets contain proteins called growth factors that activate existing cells and stimulate local stem cells to produce new cells and structures.

A small amount of your own blood is drawn from your arm and placed into a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the other components in the blood. The PRP is then drawn up into a syringe and injected into specific areas. In addition to PRP Intimate, platelet rich plasma can be used to treat under eye skin texture and tone, or to stimulate hair growth on the scalp.

Almost any woman can experience benefits from a PRP Intimate procedure, sometimes known as the O-Shot. PRP Intimate may especially be helpful for women in peri/menopause, those who find intercourse painful or lacking pleasure, women experiencing urinary incontinence, or those who have had children. Whether you are looking to treat years of urinary incontinence, or simply want to enhance your sexual health, PRP Intimate could be the optimal solution for you! Women both on and off of hormone replacement can benefit from PRP Intimate. This treatment is safe, quick and effective.

Results can be immediate, but most start seeing improvement in about 4 weeks, with steady improvement for 6 months. Results can last up to 2 years, but severe urinary incontinence may need more than one treatment, or more frequent treatments.

PRP Intimate can also be combined with our MonaLisa Touch Laser Procedure for even better results.

Most patients have no side effects or downtime and can return to work and normal activities the same day. Sexual activity is suggested a minimum 24 hours post treatment.

Other Intimate Treatments

You may have researched other options while coming across PRP Intimate. There are similarities and differences in each of the following options.

PRP Intimate vs ThermiVa

ThermiVa is a non-surgical procedure that is marketed for labia and vaginal tightening and rejuvenation. ThermiVa uses thermal-controlled radio frequency to promote collagen synthesis, shrinkage, and tightening of female tissues.

Like PRP Intimate, ThermiVa is a pain free treatment and patients can return to sexual activities that same day.

Differences in ThermiVa is the actual treatment type, using thermal-controlled radio frequency that feels like an internal warm massage. Benefits kick in 2 weeks after the first treatment, and you would need to get three separate treatments, one month apart, with results lastings up to a year.

PRP Intimate vs FemiLift

Femilift is marketed as a minimally invasive vaginal regeneration process using an Alma CO2 laser with a 360 degree rotating probe. The probe is inserted into the vagina to apply thermal energy, which causes the vaginal mucosa revitalization and promises the vaginal wall tightening and lubricating effects. Like PRP Intimate and ThermiVa, you can engage in sexual activities the same day, with little to no pain during the treatment.
