spring med spa servicesThe arrival of spring is something to celebrate in itself, but it’s even better when you realize that the harsh winds and weather of winter are done taking it out on your skin. Colorado’s dry atmosphere combined with our cold winter weather can quickly take its toll on your skin. While good skin care is something that should be done year round, once winter is done it’s nice to give your skin a little extra TLC to help it recover. Allura in Fort Collins offers a wide variety of med spa services, but here are three that you should consider in order to get your skin ready for spring and summer:

1. Microdermabrasion. This procedure uses tiny crystals to buff away the top layer of your skin, revealing newer, fresher and younger-looking skin underneath. Especially beneficial after winter when your skin is dull and dry from the weather. It’s also safe for use throughout the summer months, as it won’t affect your ability to withstand exposure to the sun.

2. European hydrating facials. These facials start with a deep cleansing, getting into the pores of your skin to flush out impurities and wash away the winter months. We then follow it up with an enzyme peel, which removes dead skin to reveal a healthy, beautiful springtime glow. Then a hydrating mask does its job sealing moisture into your skin while you enjoy a head, neck and shoulder massage.

3. Illuminize Skin Peel. If you’ve been interested in chemical peels but wary of getting started, this is a great superficial chemical peel to begin with. The peel will improve the texture and clarity of your skin and you’ll have minimal downtime so you can get back to enjoying the spring weather sooner.

As we move into warmer weather, there are a few things that you’ll want to do for your skin. First, you’ll want to make sure you are moisturizing daily. Colorado air isn’t great for skin; it can dry it out quickly. Secondly, if you are like most Coloradoans you love to be outside. That’s great, but don’t forget your sunscreen! You can even use a moisturizer or foundation that has some sun protection, but reapplying it or using a supplemental protection will be necessary. Exposure to the sun will increase the number of issues that you have with your skin.

Of course, one of the best things to do for your skin once spring arrives is to make an appointment with our team to discuss our med spa services. These are just three of the dozens of services offered in our Northern Colorado locations. When you meet with our spa team, they’ll discuss with you the concerns you have about your skin and the goals that you’d like to achieve. Then, they’ll match you with the services that are right for you. Maybe our microdermabrasion isn’t right for you; maybe you’d benefit from Botox instead. Whatever it is, we’ll help you get the results that you want to see when you look in the mirror.
