How Does Dysport Work?

Dysport works by reducing targeted muscle activity in the glabellar area of the face. By temporarily relaxing muscles of the face, wrinkles are minimized and the face has a more smooth appearance as a result. Results can be seen 2-3 days after treatment and last up to 3-4 months. The procedure is completed within minutes and requires minimal downtime.

Are There Any Adverse Effects?

The most common side effects reported include pain or skin irritation at the injection site. Other common side effects include nose and throat irritation, headache, upper respiratory tract infection, eyelid swelling or drooping, sinus inflammation, and nausea. Very rare side effects can occur if the toxin spreads to other parts of the body. Those with pre-existing conditions are at highest risk and should talk to their provider before undergoing treatment.

Do Dysport Treatments Hurt?

With Dysport injections, patients may feel some discomfort at the injection site – thought most report the pain is minimal. Providers apply a cooling pack or numbing cream to the area prior to injection to minimize discomfort.
