NovaThread At A Glance
NovaThreading is performed using a local anesthetic at the site of thread injection. After the anesthetic is activated, a small incision is made and an instrument called a cannula is used to insert PDO threads below the skin. The entire process takes approximately 30-45 minutes and patients can return to work without downtime. Patients can expect instant results with continued improvement 4-6 weeks after the procedure.
Prior to inserting the PDO sutures, the area will be numbed using a local anesthetic injection, numbing the site of the injection. Most patients report some stinging associated with the anesthetic injection. Swelling and soreness after the completion of the procedure resolves itself in 24-48 hours. Tylenol or icepacks may be used to minimize post treatment discomfort.
