How Does Thermage® Work?

Thermage® treatments work by using non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) waves that penetrate the deep, collagen rich layer of the skin – causing immediate constriction of collagen fibers, followed by collagen production. The immediate constriction of fibers results in skin tightening that can be evident right after treatment. Increased collagen production continues to improve the skin’s condition, peaking at about 6 months. Results from a single Thermage®  treatment may last for about 2-3 years and can be maintained with treatments every 2-3 years.

Are There Any Adverse Effects?

The most common side effects of Thermage® treatments are redness and inflammation. These resolve on their own for most patients within 24 hours.

Do Thermage® Treatments Hurt?

During Thermage® treatments, clients feel some heat at the treatment area along with vibration and cooling from the tool designed to reduce discomfort. Anesthetic is not used during this treatment. Some areas may be more sensitive than others – our provider can use a lower setting to address these areas while reducing discomfort.

Should I Consider An Alternative to Thermage®?
