Weight Loss Program
Our Semaglutide program at Allura Clinic, is a long-term program designed to shed pounds over several months. If your body has been holding onto a significant amount of weight this may be the program for you.
What Is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a weight loss medication that mimics a natural substance in the body, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), that decreases your appetite and helps you feel fuller longer, therefore, decreasing your daily caloric intake.

Labs are required before your initial medical evaluation to ensure you are a candidate for this program. At the medical evaluation, our provider will review your labs, go over the program and discuss your weight loss goals.
Our program includes:
- Initial injection at the clinic with an Allura Provider
- A one-month supply of compounded semaglutide as weekly injections
- Follow-up appointments with a provider to monitor weight, blood pressure, BMI and to adjust dosage as necessary
Clients on Allura’s Semaglutide program see an average total weight loss of 10%-20% of their body weight (averaging 4-8 pounds per month), a reduction in their waist circumference, and a decrease in their BMI. Additional benefits include lower blood pressure and A1C, as well as decreased overall inflammation in the body.
Am I A Good Candidate?
To participate in Allura’s Semaglutide Program, individuals must be an adult (18+) with a BMI over 30 (obese) or a BMI over 27 (overweight) WITH at least one weight-related comorbid condition (ex. hypertension, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, etc.).
At the discretion of your provider, Semaglutide can be prescribed to individuals who do not meet the above requirements but desire weight loss.
Who Cannot Take Semaglutide?
- Those with Insulin Dependent Diabetes
- Those with Diabetic Retinopathy
- If you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2
- If you are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding
- If you have a personal or family history of pancreatitis
You may not be able to take Semaglutide if you have the following conditions:
Kidney disease, and stomach/digestive problems as these may worsen with Semaglutide. (Must obtain approval from primary care physician or endocrinologist prior to starting Semaglutide if you have any of these conditions.)
