3 More Botox Myths Debunked

In our last two blogs, we’ve been discussing myths and misconceptions surrounding Botox in Fort Collins. We’re back again with 3 more myths we commonly hear about Botox and we’re debunking them once and for all. Did you previously believe these misconceptions to be truths?

Myth #1: Botox travels through your body, infecting everything. Botox is designed to have a very localized diffusion of about a centimeter and doesn’t move much further. In other words, you’re not going to have Botox in your forehead and find it in your arms.

Myth #2: Botox is permanent. False! This isn’t true at all. Botox is definitely not permanent and that’s exactly the way it should be. In reality, Botox only lasts for about 3 months but can appear to last for up to 6-12 months because patients get used to not furrowing their brows.

Myth #3: Botox is only used for aesthetic reasons. It appears Botox’s work is never done! It has many more benefits than simply cosmetic ones. Botox can be injected into underarms to reduce excessive sweating, injected into your forehead to fight migraines, and is commonly used in pets to help with arthritis.
